Made it almost safe and sound in Philly, I will be posting thign from Miami soon...On Sunday November 23rd I am heading to Wesleyan University, then back to Philly to pick up shit and then to NJ...call my cell if u need me!!

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY, and so it begins!!
So today is my 20th birthday, I have been in Miami for about 2 and a half days....it's crazy down here I'm running into sooooo many familer faces form San Francisco (ppl. I got arrested with in JUne)....anyway the vibe down here is crazy cops are everywhere in full riot gear....today is the day!! i cannot gaurntee that I will not get arrested, if u want to know how I am doing call my cell and leave a message if i don't answer and If i don't return your call by saturday, please, well i don't know......well my friends and family I love you all no matter what happens, and to Wesleyan kids I'm sorry if i can't make it out there on sunday; best of luck all.. by the way i forgot to metion the state of Mass. declared it was unconstitutional to banm gay Marriages!! yahopoo get in the streets and celebraate!!!

Greetings from the CyberBeach internet Cafe in South Beach; Miami Florida!!
Hiya Folks,

So it took me forever to find an internet cafe, and it's damn near expensive 2.99 a minute!!

Anyway so the bus from Philly arrived in Miami yesterday afternoon...and as soon as we got into town we had a couple of police cars tailing our big Greyhound bus....and behind us were a shit load of cops on bikes (it sort of looked like a critical mass of pigs!!)....

The vibe down in Miami is so wow!! A lot of stores are bordered up and schools for fear that their windows will be smashed, from what i understand the local public schools, colleges, and universities are closed this week due to the FTAA...

So my group decided to stay in South Beach, because number one the cop presence is not as strong and because well we're sooo close to the beach.

While coming in we saw cops in full riot gear, and tank looking veihcals...and word on the street is cops are allowed to use tasers on protesters (tasers that stick somethign in us and Tasers that can shoot from 15-25 feet away....

So my wirting is scattered i'm tryign to type everything in 15 minutes, but it's sooo hard...

So as soon as we got to South Beach we checked into our hotel and we went swimming....

The food here is great, and I am utilizing all my spanish skills here, and I'm very excited...

Well there's a lot of meetings today, from what I can tell there will be 2 big days of stuff going on....

To everyone out there, I cannot promise that I won't get arrested and I cannot promise that I will be at Wesleyan on Sunday...I'm sorry...but it's the way shit needs to be...I have 4 more mins. to write more stuff...

So a certain family member called me yesterday telling me basically I was just jumping on the bandwagon and that I have no idea what I'm protesting and that globalization has nothign to do with the environment...gggggrrrrr!!! but that is all i will say on that, leave your comments on my guestbook for any responses to that....

3 mins....also my mother called me begging me not to get finger printed for fear i wont' be able to get a job later in life...hahahah

And so my journey begins....
Greetings One & All,

My journey is about to being; I am currently in Philly, about to hop on a bus at 3pm today (Monday) that will then bring me down to Miami, Florida; so I can get in the streets and shout "FUCK GLOBALIZATION" (well I probably won't do that exactly)....I am armed with Samosas in my stomach( the indian potato thingies, mmmhmm) a pair of pants, a pair of shorts, some bandannas, a few shirts, a spanish squash (ceyote), my knitting needles/yarn, a Mobile Flag, and my Wesleyan Drum sticks....I along with a bunch of other SEACers are heading down to Miami (Dave, Emily, Becki, Aarron, Nathanial); wish us luck, and think of us! And let's hope I don't get arrested, because well I can't really afford it; perhaps someone out there in internet land can start a "Bail Jessica Out of Jail Fund"...(just a thought)...

I shall return from Miami on Sat Night and then on Sunday I am leaving for Wesleyan University....

Well my friends, keep posted daily about what's going on with me in Miami, and if you need me for any reason call my cell...

One Last Thing my birthday is on Thurs. (Nov. 20th; I will finally be 20!!) not on WED. as I may have told some of you it was....

Now let's get on the bus (the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour PLaying in the back ground)......ta-ta all (waves goodbye!!)

So it begins!!
It's currently 11:54pm Sunday night...so I have finally decided to go to Miami for the FTAA protests, wish me luck; and let's hope I don't get arrested...So I decided to create this weblog so that I can post quick updates while in Miami about what's going on down there; and the vibe of the city, etc......So check this out on a daily basis...I must get going, I need to pack!!
